Targeted Marketing

Targeted Marketing enables you to send targeted notifications to your users
based on their activities and interests.

This can be done through Push Notifications, Email or SMS.

These can be sent in two ways.

(i) Go to users on the sidebar.

Click the send button on the top right corner and choose how you would like to notify your users - through SMS, Emails or Push Notifications

(ii) You can also send these notifications by selecting the desired method under Marketing:

Let's explore each of the notification types in detail:

1. Emails
Please note: Before you send emails to your users, please turn on "Marketing emails" under Settings → General

Now let's go to Marketing → Emails

Click the New Email button on the top right corner

To send an email to all existing users, click Next

If you wish to filter users, click the Filter button on the emails screen and set a filter. Let's say you wish to send an email to only those users who enrolled in the course "Articles" - set the filter accordingly and Apply Filter

Now you will get the filtered list based on the criteria set - in this case, the list of users who have enrolled in the Articles course

Click Next and send them an email

2. SMS

Please note: Before you send SMS to your users, please turn on "Marketing SMS" under General settings.

Let's head over to SMS under Marketing

Click the New SMS button on the top right corner

To send an SMS to all existing users, click Next

Now write your message and click send

To send an SMS to specific users, select "Filter" on the SMS screen. Let's say you wish to SMS only users who have enrolled in the Articles course. Set the fileter and click Apply Filter.

You will see the filtered list of those users

Now write the SMS and send it to them

3. Push Notifications:

First let's see how to send Push notifications to targeted users. 

Go to Push Notifications under the Marketing section 

Once you have opened Push Notifications, click the New Push Notification button on the top right corner.

This opens up a list of all the existing users of your app. If you wish to send the notification to all users, click the next button.

Now send the push notification to all your existing users.

If you would like to filter users click the Filter button and filter users based on a number of different criterias

Click the Filter button on the top right corner - this will open a list of options to filter user list. 

Let's say you want to filter using the criteria 'visited but not enrolled in course'. Select that and then choose the course for which you want the list of users.  Once the course is selected, 'Apply Filter'.

Step 4:

Here we chose the course 'Articles', so the results show me users who visited the Articles course but did not enroll in it.

Now click the Next button and proceed to send the notification as we did for all users above.

Please note: Including a Notification image is optional.

You'll also be asked to select a target screen. This is the screen which will open up when your users click on the push notification - for example, the home screen.

Once you have filled out the details and selected the target screen, send the notification:

Awesome! Go ahead and notify your users about the amazing things you have in store for them!
